AF DuPage continues a new concept – the mini-Zoom session – a 20 minute focused presentation on a French-themed subject.
Most sessions will take place on Thursday afternoons promptly at 12:30 pm, a perfect midday break to add some French culture into your schedule.
The topics and presenters will vary. Most will be conducted in English, but we may add some French language mini-Zooms into the mix. Zoom links are reserved for AF DuPage members and will be sent out the day before the session. Visit our Membership page to join or renew your membership.

Our September Mini-Zoom, Dior through the Decades, follows the Maison Dior from its inception in 1947 through its initial stages through 1957 (when he died) with Dior at the helm. It constituted 5% of France's economy in that time. After, we follow the various artistic directors and the expansion into handbags, shoes and jewelry.

french trivia night

St. John's Church, 1235 Wilmette Ave. (2nd floor), Wilmette
An Alliance Française du North Shore signature event, the annual Soirée Trivia is an event not to be missed. This annual fundraiser is a fun, friendly evening with francophone-themed questions in English. Prizes will be awarded. Please bring snacks and beverages to share.

Register and pay the $20 fee by September 23. When signing up, please indicate that you would like to be seated with Alliance Française DuPage. In addition to registering online, please send an email to afdupage@gmail.com to let us know that you will be attending so we can save seats for you at the AF DuPage table.
If you are interested in offering or joining a carpool ride to Wilmette, please contact afdupage@gmail.com no later than September 25 so we can coordinate pick-up arrangements, most likely along the I-88 corridor.

It’s apple season, a perfect time to try a recipe that highlights a French region
known for its delicious apples. Chef Chris Thielman and Karen Thielman drew their inspiration from Normandy cuisine, an area that delights in using apples, butter, and cream. Learn to prepare this fall favorite and add a salted caramel sauce for a scrumptious finishing touch!

We’ll be inviting passers-by to stop at our table so that we can tell them about AFD and encourage them to play a game or two.
