For  in-person conversation groups, we are unable to reserve tables, so  seating will be first come, first served.

McDowell Grove Forest Preserve

4s500 Raymond Dr, Naperville, IL  (Map) 

Located on the West Branch of the DuPage River, McDowell offers a 3.5-mile loop turf and limestone trail which we will shorten to 2-2.5 miles. McDowell Grove has mature woodlands, open fields with eastern bluebirds and Cooper’s hawks, and a floodplain forest with towering butternuts and black maples.  (Paintball guns are prohibited, so please leave yours at home. 😊)

Directions: The entrance is on the east side of Raymond Drive at McDowell Road 0.6 mile south of I-88 and 1.2 miles north of Ogden Avenue. We will meet at the parking lot which is located east of the intersection of Raymond Dr. and McDowell Rd., which has a stoplight, and is about half a mile south of Diehl Rd. There are porta potties nearby. 

Our Marcher-Bavarder programs are a great way to energize your morning with your AF DuPage friends and speak French while walking.  Wear comfortable walking shoes/sneakers and bring your own water.

Please wait until the next Marcher et Bavarder is announced and, then RSVP to let us know if you’re coming using the link below.  Please check that the email address you enter in the sign-up form is correct.   We’ll ask for your mobile phone number so we can contact you if needed on the day of the event.  If cancellation is necessary due to inclement weather, you will receive a cancellation email the day before the event.  Everyone who has registered will receive an email the day before the walk with more details and directions to the meet up point.

First Wednesday of every month in the evenings, 7:00-8:00 pm CT on Zoom, hosted by Linda Witt, Federation of Alliances Françaises USA Board Past-President

Attendees will be assigned to breakout rooms of 4-5 people, with each breakout session lasting 12-14 minutes. The rooms are then re-created (for a different mix each time). In this way, participants get to meet and chat with a variety of participants from different backgrounds and fluency levels.

This group is for high intermediate to advanced (or fluent) speakers who are current members of an Alliance Française chapter in the U.S.
