AF is an international organization that aims to promote the French language and francophone culture around the world.  Its primary goal is teaching French as a second language.  It was founded in Paris in 1883 by such luminaries as Louis Pasteur (vaccines), Ferdinand de Lesseps (Suez Canal) and Jules Verne (Twenty Leagues Under the Sea).  There are 850 chapters worldwide and 100 in the U.S.

Do you love all things French?  Consider joining like-minded members of the DuPage chapter of Alliance Française.    

Benefits of membership include invitations to special Members Only events, Mini-Zooms and Baking & Cooking demonstrations.  AF DuPage members also receive discounted rates at some of our events, invitations to exclusive parties, magazine subscription discounts, member rates for classes at our sister Alliance Française du North Shore chapter, and last but not least, being part of a  great group of French-speaking and Francophile individuals in the western suburbs of Chicago.  Membership is also required in order to create an account on Culturethèque.  

Get involved in our community by offering French classes, making Zoom presentations, leading a book club discussion, organizing special events or serving on the governing board.

Membership is flexible and the annual dues are nominal:

Individual member fee- $30

Full-time student member fee - $15 

Fill out the membership application form below and pay your dues.   Annual dues may be paid using a credit card, PayPal, Zelle or by check. 

An additional charge of $2  will be added to cover credit card and PayPal fees.

If applying online, exit after submitting your application.  If mailing the paper application form, please write that you are paying with Zelle instead of a check. 

To send us money using Zelle, you must have an eligible checking or savings account enrolled with Zelle through your bank. Follow these instructions to send us your membership dues using Zelle:

1. Open your banking app and tap on "Send Money with Zelle".
2. Use this email address to add a recipient:  afdupage@gmail.com.
3. Enter the amount you are sending and include the following message so we will know who to credit the payment to: “Membership for (person's name)".
4. Double-check the details to make sure the recipient, the amount and the payee’s name are correct, then confirm the send. 

We are using PayPal as our payment processor.  95% of payment failures happen because the email or credit card was previously associated with a PayPal account.

If you are having trouble paying your membership dues online:

1. Try the gold "Pay with PayPal" button instead of the card checkout option
2. If you see "Something went wrong" - click "Try Again" and retry in the new dialog window
3. Card issues? Your email or credit card may be linked to an old PayPal account. If so, you'll need to log into that PayPal account to pay (forgot password? Use PayPal's password reset)
4. Blue "CONTINUE" button not working? Refresh the page, then use the gold "Pay with PayPal" button and scroll down to select "Pay with Debit or Credit Card".
